We’re excited to finish up the recent order from the Kansas City Chiefs organization for this year’s inductees to the Kansas City Ambassadors. The Ambassadors are a group of former Kansas City Chiefs players from throughout the club’s history. They are the only group of their kind in the entire NFL, and they are presented by the Empower Retirement. The Kansas City Chiefs Ambassadors support our community with local scholarship programs, charity golf tournaments and numerous charitable visits and appearances. We at The House of Diamonds were so excited to take on this task and designed the rings to fit perfectly with the Chiefs legacy. These men have meant so much to the organization, so we wanted to make sure these rings reflected just how appreciated they are. The pictures show additional stages of production of the rings, all the way from shaping to setting the stones. Go Chiefs!
When a Kansas City Chief retires from football, they are inducted into the Ambassadors.
“The Ambassadors are the only group of its kind in the NFL and inductees into the group are hand-picked based mostly on tenure and their willingness to participate in Ambassador outreach events and meetings.”
We’ve been building custom rings for the KC Chiefs Ambassadors for many years… but we’re REALLY looking forward to building a Superbowl Championship ring!
The photos below show you a few of the many stages we go through when custom designing and creating a ring.
We’ve had a white awning in front of our store for the past 22 years. It has our House of Diamonds logo on it. It was past time to update our signage. Next time you come by, be sure to look at the new sign!
We worked with Luminous Neon Inc. to create and install the new sign. They do work all over Kansas and have done work for us in the past. We hope you agree, they do great work!
Bra Couture KC’s annual event is an extraordinary auction event showcasing eclectic work-of-art bras modeled by breast cancer survivors to celebrate their triumph over cancer. The event celebrates breast cancer survivors to raise funds for Kansas City area organizations who are aligned with their mission. The mission of Bra Couture KC is to provide life-empowering services to uninsured and under-insured individuals in the greater Kansas City area who have been touched by all cancers.
A tribute to survivors’ fighting spirit, Bra Couture KC benefits The University of Kansas Cancer Center programs and services, such as The Patient-in-Need Fund at Missys’ Boutique, which is an accredited appearance center at The University of Kansas Cancer Center’s Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Care Center.
House of Diamonds has supported Missy’s Boutique in the past and that’s how we found out about the Bra Couture event.
Karen and Bianca attended the event on April 1st. House of Diamonds donated a matching earring and necklace set for the live auction. Karen custom designed the earring and necklace set with pink sapphires and amethyst to match the bra that was going to be auctioned.
Bra Couture KC raised $4,000 with our donation during the auction!
Instead of a traditional sit-down dinner, they had restaurants from all over the KC Metro with food stations at the event. Each restaurant had sample portions of their wonderful food.
It was a great evening to raise money for a good cause. House of Diamonds is committed to giving back to the community. If you are interested in learning more about Bra Couture KC, be sure to visit their site!
Eric and Tina were getting engaged and looking for design inspiration when they saw a picture of a vintage ring with aquamarine accents. (Aquamarine is a a precious stone with blue and green color hues.) It was an interesting concept that they loved. Eric wanted to create an engagement ring with that same feel, but with diamonds.
Karen worked with Eric on the designs for both rings. Eric was going for a specific feel and only had a rough idea of what he wanted the finished items to look like. Karen brought the elements of the initial design idea and Eric’s vision together in a computer design. After a couple of modifications, Eric was thrilled with the final design. A model of the ring was created for final approval and then cast in platinum.
Eric wanted a truly vintage version of the diamond and chose to have it “rose cut”. This means it doesn’t have a flat top. It’s a dome shape that is faceted and challenging to create. We had to have the stones specifically cut to exact measurements by our diamond cutter.
When Eric presented the engagement ring to Tina, she was blown away! She and Eric worked together with Karen to create something unique for Eric’s wedding ring that borrowed from the design ideas of Tina’s ring.
All of our custom designs are finished by hand, but these rings required even more engraving and tooling than normal. Corey, one of our in house jewelers, did an amazing job finishing them!
This project included something that’s never been done before. We’ve never seen a rose cut, crescent shape diamond in any jewelry item until this project.
Congratulations to Eric and Tina on their recent marriage. Tina was able to wear her engagement ring for two years, and Eric was so excited to finally be able to wear his ring as well!
